
Exercise Physiology
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) are allied health professionals equipped with the skills to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions to treat people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.
AEPs are recognised by Medicare, Department of Veterans Affairs and other health funds. AEPs are able to play a role in many pathology areas. Common areas of treatment include:
- Ischemic heart disease
- Hypertension
- Chronic kidney disease
- Anxiety disorders
- Post traumatic stress disorder
- Obesity
- Diabetes (TI &TII)
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Osteoarthritis
- Osteoporosis
- Cerebrovascular accident (Stroke)
- Cerebral palsy
- Asthma
